Behind the Project

LEFTALOON is a creative project focused on maintaining the traditional method of old-fashioned hand painted advertising. Each hand-painted sign that Leftaloon designs is executed with skillful accuracy and playful vibrancy. The final product generates a lasting impression that sticks in a way that vinyl just can’t. Each sign is a one of a kind artistic expression as well as a visually captivating advertisement. Your establishment will grip your client's attention with a strong presence of quality and charm that only a hand painted sign creates.

In the early 2000s, Jenna Z started sign painting in her home town in Tampa, Florida. She developed a taste for this unique art form as a child in the 90’s as she watched her sign painter family, her father and three uncles, tag city walls with intricate lettering styles and tackle massive murals on towering billboards above.

As technology has advanced, the trade of sign painting has nearly faded away. Since 2004, Jenna has put the skills she learned from her family of sign painters to use, spreading the unique aliveness of painted sign work throughout towns big and small across the nation. For over 15 years, she has worked to keep the lost art of hand painting prevalent in hopes of spreading appreciation for all things handcrafted. Jenna has traveled and painted in nearly every state across the continental U.S.
